The planks and photoetched parts are the following :
A1 and A2 bulkheads are used on the aft well deck (A1 aft, A2 fwd).
There is some preparatory work here, as windows and portholes have to be drilled in the wooden parts.
The following image illustrates the parts used on the aft bulkhead (A1)
- Red letters show the correspondence and fitting of the parts.
- The front bulkhead, marked G, will replace the wooden part, which will not be used.
- The green dots show where portholes have to be drilled into the wooden parts.
For the forward bulkheads, there is more work to do:
- Red letters show the correspondence and fitting of the parts.
- Green dots and squares show the portholes and windows. For the windows, I drilled holes like the portholes ones and refined the shape with an X-acto and sandpaper.
- Two doors are missing on the F and G bulkheads (blue squares). As most of the original bulkheads of the ship are replaced by minibrass parts, there are some spare doors in the original photoetched parts. I used here the 196 and 197 doors (original kit numbering).
- C and D parts have no photoetched parts, I will cut plasticard parts to the adequate shape.
The following pictures show the photoetched parts fitted on their bulkheads with masking tape, as they will be painted before final fitting. (The missing doors have not been fitted yet, and some minibrass bulkheads have to be cut to the right dimensions on the fwd picture).
Excellent write-up. I definitely love this site. Stick with it!
